Combining the Mediums of Sound and Vision: Eternal Otter Records Presents a Dual Sensation Exhibit at the Pepperell Mill Campus

The press release below describes a true example of innovation in the arts. Eternal Otter Records has a highly progressive view of how the world of music recording should work (eternalotterrecords.com). The Pepperell Mill Campus is pleased to provide the event space for this very cool exhibition and record release party.

Eternal Otter Records is pleased to announce the Sound + Vision art exhibition at the North Dam Mill in Biddeford, ME on November 19th & 20th. Sound + Vision explores the relationship between music and the visual arts with 8 installations from Maine-based musicians. Each artist has composed a song and accompanying visual installation ranging across multiple mediums, including video, giant pinatas, and crime scene recreations. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to listen to the songs related to each of the installations on a gallery-provided mp3 players. The exhibition playlist will also be made available for download a few weeks before the exhibit at eternalotterrecords.bandcamp.com.

The exhibition runs from 11 am – 5 pm on both Saturday and Sunday in the main events room of the North Dam Mill (2 Main St, Biddeford, ME). The event is free and open to the public.

Participating artists include A Severe Joy, Blood Warrior, Computer at Sea, Drab Pony, Dead Man’s Clothes, Hi Tiger, Panda Bandits

Eternal Otter Records is an online music label devoted to limited edition recordings of exceptional musical talents, drawn primarily from the Portland, Maine area. Beyond this, Eternal Otter strives to be a touchstone for the larger Portland creative community. We believe that all art – be it music, painting, the written word – connects us one to another in a profound yet personal way. Eternal Otter Records most recent release is treble treble vol 3, a vinyl compilation of Maine’s underground music. The record was created through a collaboration with Portland’s SPACE Gallery and was partly funded by a grant from the Maine Arts Commission. The record will be available for sale at the Sound + Vision exhibition. Purchase of the record grants access to a secret addition to the Sound + Vision experience.
