Big things in store for MERC?

We are happy to hear of the possibility that Casella is interested in discontinuing its trash processing and trash incineration at the MERC plant in Biddeford. The positive effects of this prospect are endless. The term ‘transformation’ of the downtown area comes to mind.

The ways in which Casella and all stakeholders can achieve this outcome are many. We, as stakeholders, need to remain reasonable in our views and actions throughout this process. All of us need to rally behind and encourage a negotiation process that produces the best outcome for our community. We at the Pepperell Mill Campus are sensing that now the timing is right to resolve the MERC issue.
