Documenting The Changing Face Of Biddeford’s Historic Mill
Fifteen miles south of Portland, the Saco River is quickly becoming home to a slew of new business in Biddeford, Maine.
The changes challenge our long held view of Biddeford. A short walk down Main Street and we begin to notice new businesses slowly taking over empty storefronts. The city put in new sidewalks. Vinyl signs announce new things afoot. Old mill buildings showcase a massive grid-work of new windows punctuated by inviting entrances into spaces that once held manufacturing companies.
It’s an exciting time in an exciting place, and we wanted to begin documenting some of the people and over 100 businesses that we meet on our own journeys here. So throughout 2017 we’ll be sharing a post every week on another business that has found their home here.
The businesses are sharing their own story through interviews with Tina in her day to day work at the Pepperell Mill Campus, and then stopping by the Portland Headshot studio for a portrait with Peter as a way of building our community together.
