Blazing Trail!

Congratulations are in order for a longtime tenant of the Pepperell Mill Campus, the Eastern Trail Alliance. The ETA has finalized the funding to construct the final connection between the northern section of the trail (commencing at Bug Light in South Portland), to the southern section of the trail.

The Eastern Trail Alliance met their fundraising goal of $4.1 million to construct the 2-miles of trail.  The section of trail will include a pedestrian bridge crossing the Nonesuch River.

The efforts to raise the funds have been persistent for the past 5 years.  Carole Brush, ETA executive director, said in December alone the organization pulled in $100,000 in donations and grants.

When work on the next phase of the project is complete, the trail will be 65 miles long, spanning from South Portland to Kittery. Sixteen miles of the trail will be continuous uninterrupted off-road pathways.

The Eastern Trail Alliance has been a tenant at the Pepperell Mill Campus for over 10 years. We are proud to share our halls with such a good cause!
